Personally I would run it with no screen and full rpm for cows. Putting a 3/4" or 1" would work for feeding cows but wouldn't want it that fine for feeding high percentage corn to fat cattle. Our Farmhand mills always had 3 screens. 3/16" was the smallest and was basically never used except for maybe oats portion of a mix for small feeder pigs.

The New Holland 355 mill is one of the best ever made. If it is in good condition it will bring a lot more than $2950. Parts for the NH mill will be easier to get at this time. Neither Gehl or NH make grinder mixers anymore. The worry with Gehl is they are dropping support for the majority of the agriculture equipment.

You will need to run a screen to keep the material length short enough it does not bridge up in the mixer.

1. Posted December 21, 2019. Hey everyone we have a new Holland 355 mix mill for grinding feed. Lately the clutch isn't catching and holding for the unloading auger. The bearing was shot and already fixed that. The clutch just won't catch and hold for some reason. We have to fight against it holding it in place to unload the feed.
